Chaplain Dave Crosson
Team Leader, Reserve Chaplain
I became a Chaplain because of a Sacramento Chaplain, whom I observed, providing exceptional, emotional care to two families whose two 11-year-old daughters were killed while crossing the street in the cross walk, on a green light in Citrus Heights. I said to my wife, “Someday I want to do that.” I joined the Chaplaincy in January 2006. It has been the most stretching, fulfilling thing I have ever done!
I retired in 2003, after working 36 years with the California Youth Authority (CYA), serving hard core juvenile and adult offenders. I was a teaching assistant, high school teacher, administrator and Superintendent of Schools responsible for the statewide education programs within the CYA.
