Leaving a Legacy

Since the Sierra Chaplaincy was formed in 1990, First Christian Church of Placerville has been a faithful supporter of the ministry. When their Pastor, a dear friend of the Chaplaincy and our founder Tim Thompson, died it left the church in a difficult place. After some time the church decided to close and gave the building to William Jessup University who later sold the building to a new church who will continue their ministry to the community.

William Jessup University along with the Elders of the First Christian Church of Placerville decided to use the proceeds of the sale to make a final donation to all the missionaries and ministries they supported through the years, the Chaplaincy being one of them. On May 23rd, 2018 Chaplains Tim Thompson and Steve Wright were invited to William Jessup University and were presented a check by the Director of Development of William Jessup University along with the remaining Elders of the First Christian Church of Placerville.

Through their donation of $4,700 First Christian Church of Placerville is continuing their support of the Sierra Chaplaincy and leaving a legacy of care for the entire community.
